I like Dean's response to the question of taxes.

He responds that the republicans like to label democrats as in favor of high taxes as a scare tactic. He states that he doesn't see any need for new taxes on the middle-income class, but would like to see more taxes on the rich oil-companies.

2 problems here.

1) his statement means nothing. He may not see need for new taxes/tax increase now, but that has nothing to with what person elected will do. It is a meaningless statement that is supposed to sound good.

2) even if it was true and he taxes the Evil OilBaron instead of the down-trodden middle-income citizen. Who do you think will ultimly pay the higher taxes on the oil companies? The consumer, the citizen who he supposedly doesn't want to increase taxes on of course. The oil companies won't just eat the tax, they will pass it on in higer prices.
