Canada is now one of a small number of countries without a law restricting abortion. An abortion is now treated like any other medical procedure and is governed by provincial and medical regulations.
Yay for us!
According to the paper, some study by the Guttmacher Institute (?) showed that abortion rates were surprisingly similar in nations where abortions were legal and abortions where they are not.
I'm glad our nation allows these procedures to be performed in a safe and regulated manner.
I think we all owe one to Dr. Morgentaler. He did a trememdous service for the women in this country.

There's pro-choice legislature...abortions...maple syrup...basketball...did I say maple syrup?
All joking aside, it's a good thing that Canada allows our women to have safe, regulated abortions, rather than having to go to unofficial, and frequently dangerous abortion clinics.
