I mean, think about the increased sales of food-products, the spikes in sales at the 24/7 convenience stores during the wee hours of the night.

Finally!
Someone's cutting through the BS.
Meth and Crack are so much deadlier and addicting, but the government is wasting more money on marijuana than any other drug busts.
And it takes a lot to overdose on weed.
and I mean a lot!

If they regulate it like tobacco or alcohol, or anything like those at all, everyone could benefit. Consumers would get a lower cost, higher quality product, the gov't would make money on taxing it instead of spend money to beat it. Just gotta make sure people don't toke up and drive.

« akstika : Consumers would get a lower cost, higher quality product, the gov't would make money on taxing it instead of spend money to beat it. I disagree with one point that you've made. I do not believe that the consumer will get a higher quality product, in fact I beleive we will be smoking something lower than the Mexican Dirt if the government takes over. Just look at what they did to tobacco, there are naturally occuring strains of tobacco that caused hallucinations, but these are gone now. I think our pot will be sprayed with various chemicals and will take on addictive properties just like tobacco (which is not nearly as addictive without all the f**king addatives.)

I think it should be legalized and sold like carrots. Sure, you could go to the grocery store and get a chemical-sprayed crappy kind, or you could go to the farmer's market and get some good home-grown stuff. Supports the local economy, too.

I've been a partaker for about 17 yrs. , and it's still as much an issue now as it was then, actually the "war on drugs" have caused it to be even more of an issue now. The sad part is our government prosecutes to the fullest degree on pot charges. I know from personal experience that it never made me want to go and rob, steal, or kill so I could get more. Yeah it's sad when you run out especially if you consume on a daily bases. But there are enough friends that partake to always have a "fallback plan". It's not like they will ever listen to a bunch off potheads! who cares what I do in the privacy of my own home. I'd much rather smoke a bowl than take a valium for anxiety. Damn the Man!

« akstika : . Just gotta make sure people don't toke up and drive. How am I supposed to get to McD's, or Taco bell, So what if I drive 5 to 10 miles slower than normal. I've never been in a wreck (yet) for being under the influence of pot.

While I am not condoning driving while under the influence of anything, I really don't see the difference between a stoned driver and a yammers-on-phone-while-driving driver. I actually think the cellphone driver would be more of a hazard because he/she is preoccupied and driving will become a #2 (or 3 or usually 6) priority.
Last year I saw a guy almost hit me and then smash another car with his SUV because he was too busy talking to be bothered to shoulder check. Not safe!

Thats why talking on the phone while driving is illegal in some states, like mine. About the whole pot thing... well I guess I am pretty indifferent. But I suppose I am a lil biased because I always have to take up the slack of people at my work who are stoned off their rocker.
