 Hacking Democracy
Hacking Democracy
I looked to see if anyone had posted this DVD yet and couldn't find it.

This is about the Diebold machines and the last election, which is directly related to today's link from the Onion:

I am all about technology. That said, there is one place I would like to see good, old fashioned paper till the end of time... voting machines.

Not to create controversy but wasn't it the hanging chads on the paper ballots that caused problems in FL? Oh, wait, that was Florida. Never mind.

That's a pretty eye-opening video. The thing I remember from it the most, was one precinct which had Kerry with 16,000 negative votes.

None of their links to videos worked but the letters from Diebold and the report of findings from Berkeley do. The latter being very eye-opening.

We use the old fashioned machines here, flips, switches and that big old arm thing to close the curtain.

I think paper ballots are still the way to go, so what if it takes time? What is more important than confidence in our election process?

This has actually been on tv here in LA! It's AWESOME!!!!!

Working at polling places, I worry about that. Which is why I vote absentee, to get a paper ballot. We do still use paper ballots for now, but it's only a matter of time....
