Barack Obama, Kenya, his cousin Odinga and Islamic jihad Posted: 8 months ago by hmtksteve
You have seen the picture of Obama in native African garb. This is the story behind his trip to Kenya when the photograph was taken. Discuss in the comments.

This is all very interesting, but I have a hard time trusting an article that starts out in such an obviously bias manner. However if what he says is true... well I'm not sure exactly how much worse this would be than a McCain presidency.

I can only seem to find conservative blogs and papers talking about this story Hmm, but here is a vague excerp from a South African newspaper

"On Africa, Obama would need no lecturing as he has a first-hand account from his Kenyan family connection. He has already phoned Raila Odinga, the opposition leader, to urge him towards a negotiated solution to Kenya’s problems. He also made attempts to speak to Mwai Kibaki, whose Kenyan presidency is the cause of the crisis in that country. It’s also significant that Obama visited SA before declaring his presidential ambitions in America.

SA and Africa would be better off under an Obama presidency than a Clinton one. His approach to Africa is likely to be more strategic and less patronising in its form and substance."

Well it's not an article it's a blog and therefore, at best, an opinion piece.

Also, if this were true (and he oddly has NO citations, at all, just two vague youtube videos which can be interpreted in various ways), but if it is true don't you think the Clinton campaign would be all over this like (dare I say) white on rice?

The Clinton campaign was accused of releasing an image of Obama in traditional Kenyan garb. There's some controversy as to whether or not they did that, but assuming they did, that's about the LEAST damaging thing they could have released if all this were true.

I am no champion for Obama. I think he's inspirational and not much more. Honestly, I don't think his policies are substantive or attainable. If he wins the democratic nomination, I wish him Godspeed and I will support anything but another 4 years of the current hell we're dealing with (read McCain).

I have my doubts about Obama and his veracity but until I see something concrete in these character assignations (show me, show me real instances, in writing, in articles in documentation), something less oblique and obscure than guesses, I cannot condone this (what amounts to) drivel.

It is quite likely that they are hoping this particular blog piece (or others like it) will rise to the surface.

Looks like it was lifted from this blog, no question about the right wing prejudice.

You can tell it is right wing propaganda when they emphasize his middle name.
