Ellison is going to be a problem in Congress and the problem will not have anything to do with his religion or his race.

He has contempt for "the little things" that every citizen has to do, like parking where you should and paying parking tickets when you don't. Or paying those pesky income taxes. He also has no time for filing the proper papers which are required to even run for Congress.

He feels he is above all that. It's an entitlement issue - he DESERVES to be excused from such common and petty things – after all... he's Keith Ellison, gods gift to Islam! Well, at least HE thinks so.

With his record of contempt for process and procedure, just wait until he gets to Washington. He's a nobody in Minnesota, a state notorious for sending nobodys to Washington, and he already thinks he's Allah. I'm afraid that he's going to be an even bigger embarrassment to Minnesota than Wellstone was.

Everything you said may be true, but I think Ellison is going to be a problem for even bigger reasons. If his alleged ties to Nation of Islam isn't enough, he's just a little too friendly with Nihad Awad. Does that name ring a bell? He's the co-founder of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). If you haven't followed CAIR CAREfully, you should -- the name may sound real nice and fluffy, but much evil lurks beneath the external facade. Awad has been described by a senior Democrat as having "intimate connections to Hamas" -- not too surprising considering he has been pretty forthright about it. He publicly declared his enthusiasm for Hamas at Barry University in Florida in 1994 and defended the terror group in an interview with 60 Minutes.

After September 11th, CAIR asked for donations for the Emergency Relief Fund, but clicking "Donate" would bring you to the website of the Holy Land Foundation. The link soon changed to a more appropriate title, but then disappeared altogether. The reason soon became apparent: the Holy Land Foundation's assets were blocked by the United States government for funneling money to Hamas.

Read "Keith Ellison's terror-loving friends" over at powerline: -- they have a picture on the bottom that shows Awad speaking on April 20, 2002 in Washington, D.C. on a stage bearing the flag of Hezbollah.

Over at the Washington Times (http://washingtontimes.com/op-ed/20060924-085114-9378r.htm), Joel Mowbray goes over some of these issues and others as well.
