Rush and other talk-radio stars trying to swing democrat primaries Posted: 8 months ago by 2manyusernames
Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, and more are telling their listeners to do what they were accusing the democrats of doing. Namely crossing party-lines to vote for Hillary in order to keep up the feud within the democratic party.

Then we start being 'un-American' again, to quote liberals," Limbaugh said laughing. "Then we start to sabotage all over again.
A spectacular look in the evil that he is. If the democratic race goes right on to the convention it will make no difference. It's astounding how the only ones who BELIEVE this will tear the Democratic party apart are Republicants. If this were the republican party it might but since the dems have super delegates and most of the super delegates have offered that they'll vote according to the popular vote, it really isn't going to matter at all.

The first person to bring up cross voting was a writer on the dailykos who suggested it in Michigan and told his readers to vote for Romney.

Many conservatives are not happy having McCain as their candidate. They feel the states that voted first in the primary season were hardly conservative states and that too many Democrats and Independants crossed over and spoiled their primary.

The idea now is, "well, since our primary was already wrecked let's go wreck theirs."

This can be fixed in a few simple ways.

1) No more Open Primaries - If people can only vote in the primary for which party they are registered with you will not have cross-over voters.

2) Do not allow party switching from the time primaries start (nationwide) until they end.

3) The Republicans can drop their "winner take all" system for the states that use it. McCain would not have acquired so many delegates so quickly if he was not winning all the winner take all primaries.

As for the Democrat convention... The goal of Rush (and others) is to keep Hillary in the race so that she can bloody Obama (politicaly) because Republicans know that if they do it in the general election they will be called racist. the secondary goal is the idea that if neither one gets enough pledged delegates to win the nomination there will be a major fight at the convention because two of the Democrats biggest "minority" groups (woman and blacks) will be fighting and may not support the eventual nominee in the general election if it is not their nominee. Current polling shows that 20% of each candidates supporters wil not support the other in the general election.

Open Primaries should be abolished. The point of the primary is to have the party members decide who they want to represent them in the general election. Why should someone who is not a member of the party be allowed to help choose the parties candidate?

It may be dirty and underhanded... but it isn't against the rules.

Every report I've seen or read, has said the same thing... in certainly primaries, this is allowed.

Finding a loophole and exploiting it... it's the name of the game. Sadly.
