I actually have a much better video, but it's 45 minutes long, so I figured this one would be better to post.
In case anyone wants to hear/see a more detailed video:

although I am pretty sure obama didn't vote for it, in fact he wasn't even on the senate when the patriot act was passed Obama voted for the renewal in 2006. I have the voting records for anyone that pleases.
« gammerus : Ron Paul voted against the patriot act. Neither did Mike Gravel (not sure if he was in Congress at the time) nor did Dennis Kucinich. Funny that the three honest politicians were pushed to the side. I just didn't wanna turn this into a Ron Paul post, even though I have fully supported him for quite a while.

Obama voted for the renewal but not without criticizing it.
Floor Statement of Senator Barack Obama on S.2271 - USA PATRIOT Act Reauthorization
Fortunately, last year, the Senate recognized that this was a false choice. We put patriotism before partisanship and engaged in a real, open, and substantive debate about how to fix the PATRIOT Act. And Republicans and Democrats came together to propose sensible improvements to the Act. Unfortunately, the House was resistant to these changes, and that's why we're voting on the compromise before us.
Let me be clear: this compromise is not as good as the Senate version of the bill, nor is it as good as the SAFE Act that I have cosponsored. I suspect the vast majority of my colleagues on both sides of the aisle feel the same way. But, it's still better than what the House originally proposed.
...
So, I will be supporting the Patriot Act compromise. But I urge my colleagues to continue working on ways to improve the civil liberties protections in the Patriot Act after it is reauthorized.
I thank the chair and yield the floor.
I have just finished reading Obama's book, it is amazing. His ideals are noble, he loves America so much he actually made me jealous to be Canadian and he is incredibly good at seeing both sides of an argument and coming to a sensible compromise. I really think he offers the best hope that America has seen in a long time, and part of me is hoping that he will become president and maybe make Canadians expect more from our politicians.

Hope, schmope :). He was rated one of the 10 most corrupt politicians last year.
I think there's a lot about him we really don't know. Not to knock on who you support, it just tends to be that most people don't know as much about him as they should.

I surprised that the Clinton campaign doesn't bring stuff like that up... I thought all they had on him was wright .

Well, if you want to call him corrupt because of some list by the questionable organization known as "Judicial Watch" at least post their bogus reason.
Senator Barack Obama (D-IL): A “Dishonorable Mention” last year, Senator Obama moves onto the “ten most wanted” list in 2007. In 2006, it was discovered that Obama was involved in a suspicious real estate deal with an indicted political fundraiser, Antoin “Tony” Rezko. In 2007, more reports surfaced of deeper and suspicious business and political connections It was reported that just two months after he joined the Senate, Obama purchased $50,000 worth of stock in speculative companies whose major investors were his biggest campaign contributors. One of the companies was a biotech concern that benefited from legislation Obama pushed just two weeks after the senator purchased $5,000 of the company’s shares. Obama was also nabbed conducting campaign business in his Senate office, a violation of federal law.
OK, I do know Obama pretty well and so I have heard these points before. What they are failing to mention here is that Rezko and Obama had been friends for 15 years before this "suspicous" real estate deal, and they totally fail to mention that the stocks were actually purchased by a "blind" trust without Obama's knowledge. Upon learning of it Obama sold them for a net loss of $13,000.
Make up your own mind, but I think these are pretty petty
EDIT: Gammerus, Clinton does bring these things up. She has repeatedly

Again, I am sad that Paul wasn't given a fair chance by the media, or the republican party.
