Zimbabwe's opposition party, MDC, are claiming victory over Robert Mugabe's ZANU-PF party in last week's election.

While ZANU-PF are unlikely to slink off quietly, this would appear to be the final nail in the coffin of their regime.

Addendum:

This still isn't an official result, but the world's press, at least, seem to be in agreement, and from their reportage so do the people of Zimbabwe.

For a bonus point, can anyone name another election victory that was won on the press' assertions rather than the actual ballot count?

I believe this space still needs watching.
