Sweet Jesus, I hate Bill O'Reilly Posted: 8 months ago by 2manyusernames
Now that is an inspired domain name! They are dedicated to the dissemination of information that exposes Bill O'Reilly for what he is: an ego-driven, biased individual who spreads fear, hate and misunderstanding.

I wonder if he knows about this website?

Nah, I'd almost bet the internets is too secular for him to want to associate with.

Nah. For him to "spread" fear hate and misunderstanding, it'd have to stick to something. Most of it goes right past everyone.

As for the "ego-driven, biased individual"- that is every person in the media I've ever met.
Turn on what's left of AirAmerica and you'll hear the same side of this coin, except that the left has a lot more outlets and strongholds to "spread" its ideals. Too much competition.

I used to really dislike O'Reilly.

Then I watched his show. Then I realized all the BS I had been fed about how "terrible" he was, was just that... BS. If you’ve never actually watched his show, and only rely on what sites like this tell you is the truth, you’re being lied to.

But then again, hating Bill O'Reilly (and FOX News... and other "conservatives) is big business… and for the haters, making up stories about them is just as good as finding actual stories. My favorite site for this is Newshounds... not because they have a different take on the standard "hate"... but because their lies are so easily proved wrong. But then again, when you cater to the “hater mob,” it doesn’t really matter… wanting to believe is enough.

Oh well... I guess I too hope to one day be as famous and influential (you don't get "hated" if you're not making an impact) as Bill O'Reilly. Don’t we all?

Only once I watched any of his show outside of a web clip and he really disgusted me. He is the one full of hate. There was a news story about an illegal alien who was drunk behind the wheel and killed somebody. To Bill this meant - C'MON PEOPLE LETS ROUND UP THE MEXICANS AND GET THEM OUT OF HERE. Really, it was sickening - pure hate propaganda. I could be hated and have an impact if I started screaming KILL ALL THE BLACKS (JEWS, ARABS) every time a person of that denomination committed a crime. Jesus made an impact and was hated (not by all, but he certainly didn't have much support in his time) but at least he wasn't a loud, arrogant, ignorant, idiot.

Actually, his position was that had the illegal immigrant not been allowed into the country in the first place, he would have never had the opportunity to get drunk and behind the wheel, and kill someone. Furthermore, his point was that because we have lax policies concerning immigration, when this guy was arrested previously, he was allowed out, instead of deported. Additionally, his crimes were under-reported because he had limited records, and should never have been in the country in the first place.

Are you sure you watched this show, and not just a clip of this on the internet? This was from one of his biggest fights (of recent) with Geraldo... and made its way all around the news. Are you sure you watched the program, and not just the clip?

IMO, if you are a public figure that someone respects... someone else is gonna hate you. And the real reason he's hated isn't because of him... it's because of his opinions. He's a successful political commentator, which draws the ire of those who disagree with him politically. It's the same way for all politics. The opposition hates the loudest voice... because the loudest voice hits the most ears.

The point is - immigration was not the issue here and he turned it into propaganda. Technically George Bush should not be allowed into Canada due to a prior DUI. So let's say he comes up for a visit, has a few too many drinks and kills some one. Should I then start hollering about how we need to tighten borders to keep people like him out? It was a ridiculous arguement and Geraldo served him. (and I must say I am not big on Geraldo)

So you didn't actually see the whole show... just the clips? Well, okay... we'll go from there.

So you don't like O'Reilly, because you disagree with his positions politically. Fine... that's more or less what I was saying earlier. Much of the "hatred" he receives, is purely politically based (ie: a difference of opinions).

_____________

As for this issue (which I don't want to dwell on too much, because it's not really the topic here), O'Reilly's opinion was/is the opinion of many other "immigration enforcement advocates." It is not one of hate (they don't actually hate Mexican's for foreigners or whatever they're charged with), it's just that they don't want people breaking the laws, and entering the country illegally.

In your example, why wouldn't you start hollering? If someone broke the law to get into the country (which in your exmaple, would involve the President sneaking across borders, instead of being allowed by the Canadian government, but whatever), and then killed someone, why wouldn't you be upset? Your argument wouldn't be about his race... it would be that he broke the law, and as a result was able to kill someone. O'Reilly's argument, that had immigration policy been enforced from the get-go, this guy would have never been able to get behind the wheel and kill someone, is an argument about law enforcement... not ethnicity.

As for me, I didn't think this was his strongest argument. And it got all convoluted with Geraldo calling "racism" almost immediately. But then again, I recognize that I don' need to agree with him all the time to appreciate his commentary. Just because I'm interested in what he has to say, doesn't mean I have to accept it. I'll listen, then make up my mind.

YES!!! I'm kidding. Sort of.

The last time he visited this part of the world he thanked people for waving with all five fingers this time.

I really want to pie him, but I'm scared of his guards who probably have guns and the 'shoot first, ask later' attitude. I wouldn't be scared of pieing one of our PM's for that reason, and if it weren't for the risk of getting shot I'd love to pie Dubya.

Tell ya what Blue... you give me an example of how the evil Liberal media has made up stories about poor ole Mr. O'Reilly and I'll do the research and come up with about 20 examples of his hate-mongering for you.

Well... I disagree with you there...
I'm not in political agreement with McCain... I dont agree with his stance on many things, but I dont hate the man.

Bill O'Reilley on the other hand isn't political.... he's just a white-washed bigot. Everything is everyone's fault except for the conservatives... he seeks no compromise, no resolution... he just attacks everyone who isnt exactly like him. He follows the same standard as the Conservative Agenda.... 100% compliance or 100% destruction...

and just so ya know... expressing your opinions is the truest way to judge the type of person you are.... how can you possibly think that you can seperate "who you are" from "expressing your opinions"? Where would those opinions come from if not your beliefs?

If you really feel you have to be hated/feared to make a difference... then you have the makings of a fantastic Dictator...

Well, I could pick the easy ones like, "He tells his guests to 'Shut up'" or "He's always cutting off his guest's mics" because those are easy. A simple, "No, he doesn't" actually covers it... and is the truth.

But if you want to see what the "evil Liberal media" does towards O'Reilly, you need to look no further than to his direct competition on MSNBC, Keith Olbermann, who has made a career (at least his current career) out of mocking, insulting, and lying about O'Reilly virtually every night.

If you want to take a lie... one particular lie... let's remember back to a few months ago when O'Reilly was (once again) receiving "racism" calls after a statement he made while in a restaurant with Al Sharpton. While those who want to smear O'Reilly were able to easily remove context, and fit the story to their spin, the actual tale told a much different story. Even the usual race-baiters (like Jesse Jackson) were hesitant to claim racism, because they knew it just wasn't so. But the haters (and the haters aren't necessarily the MSM, they most often stay out of petty nonsense unless it's really juicy) used this as an excuse to try to bring O'Reilly down. Once again, it failed, strengthened his base, and thusly the haters moved on.

How's that?

Well... I disagree with you there...
I'm not in political agreement with McCain... I dont agree with his stance on many things, but I dont hate the man.
Yet, Sadly the current political climate doesn't allow for much respect... especially for those who disagree with you. Sad, but true.

False! Most conservatives don't like O'Reilly... they see him as too much of populist, and less of a conservative. You only need to read a conservative blog or two to see that.

He does have an opinion, and he fiercely defends his opinion. However, I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that he's always "attacking." Most programs, he has multiple people on to discuss the issue from both sides of the fence. He attempts (not always, but most of the time) to let all opinions be heard... even if he's not going to change his mind. But what's wrong with that?

and just so ya know... expressing your opinions is the truest way to judge the type of person you are.... how can you possibly think that you can seperate "who you are" from "expressing your opinions"? Where would those opinions come from if not your beliefs?

No, you misunderstood me. You don't have to be hated or feared to make a difference... but when there is one group who approves of your... while another group either "hates or fears" you, it's obvious you are making a difference. Good or bad depends on your POV.

How many times have you seen him ask a question of a guest and then during the answer literally yell at the person? Sometimes he will tell them to shut up and at least once I have seen him shut off someone's mic mid answer.

Why have people on to not let them speak? It is what his fan base likes. They want to see him yell and shut down people that he/they don't agree with instead of listening to what they have to say. He knows it's rude and he doesn't like when it's done to him, just look at the Obama thing a couple months ago.

This isn't a political reason to hate him. It is just that he acts so rudely to his guests.
