I actually like Fred Thompson but the word "lazy" comes to mind before "cool"

He put very little time and energy into his campaign and he got the same out of it.

There's a very fine line between "lazy" and "cool." I think cool people are naturally lazy... but lazy people, aren't necessarily cool.

he wasn't lazy he just didn't want to play their game. at the end of the day he still has his dignity.

He served Nixon as one of his counsels during Watergate.

Tricky d**k didn't have a very high opinion of him calling him "as dumb as dirt."

He hasn't done a heck of a lot over the years to disprove that.

It's not about dignity... he waited too long to get in and campaigned very little. Didn't get out and speak publicly (on the stump) half as much as the competition. His positions on the issues were vague or unknown to many of the voters. When asked about it - his responses were indifferent and altogether "uninformative"

...thus my assessment that he ran a "lazy" campaign.
