Obama Interviewed On "FOX News Sunday"
Obama Interviewed On "FOX News Sunday"
Barack Obama may not be planning to debate Hillary Clinton again before the Indiana primary, but he did sit down with FOX News Sunday to hash over a few touchy subjects in an interview that aired this morning.

**Here's a rundown of the interview... more in the comments section. picked by ImNotBlue 7 months ago

Obama Doesn't "Take Fox On," After All

And from KOS:

They're not happy (some to the point of no longer supporting Obama), because it was a good interview, and Obama didn't bash FOX... I thought that idea, and their reader's comments/argument, was interesting...

Good initial post. Interesting stuff but these links are all blogs. The informative value of internet blogs is no better that the posts we make here in comments.

Although I'll admit the last guy gave me a chuckle with an insight into his thinking.

He will now vote against Obama because he took part in "the greatest threat to our country," a fact free debate. *Sigh*

Now that's how we should choose our presidents.

I guess he should have taken a page out of McCain's "How To Respond To Hard Questions" handbook:

Nonsense, Nonsense, Nonsense, Nonsense, Nonsense, Nonsense, Nonsense, Nonsense, Nonsense.

Hey, it worked for John.

How much you want to bet he gets crap for this statement:

OBAMA: Look, what we have done has been successful throughout. It’s not like I have been winning in states that only have either black voters or Chablis-drinking limousine liberals. We’ve been winning in places like Idaho. We’ve been winning in places like Colorado.
Some will swing that statement like so:

So in other words, not only are there no "real"
African-Americans in Idaho or Colorado, but everyone that lives there are beer-swigging, unsophisticated hicks who ain't never seen no limousine, and are all heartless, self-centered people with no liberal feelings.

Not saying that is what he said, just pointing out it could easily be swung that way.

It think he made a fair point. He is just saying that he has won in states where the majority is the white working class. I don't see how anyone can take it any other way.

I agree, and disagree at the same time. I believe that will be a reported statement... but I think there’s a different (or at least additional) “out of context” to be taken.

...either black voters or Chablis-drinking limousine liberals...
That's the line I think will be used.

1- "Is Obama suggesting that there all blacks are poor?" Why can’t black voters be “limousine liberals” too?

IMO, that’s really really weak… and I don’t expect it to get much play.

2- He used the phrase, "limousine liberals."

That's a very "Sean Hannity" phrase... and may actually get him in a little bit of trouble. It’s a term suggesting Liberals are out of touch with the “average” people they claim to represent. Normally, Liberals and Democrats don’t even recognize that term… however, this is an acknowledgement of its existence and ‘correctness’ (if there weren’t limousine liberals, he wouldn’t have referenced them). While those on the right will celebrate Obama’s usage of this term, those on the left might have real trouble with it.

You have too little faith in people's ability to twist statements.

The problem is he didn't say it as clearly as you did. He added all sorts of phrases and what could be taken as insults and innuendos that there is room to twist it.

I am not saying he didn't make a valid point. I am merely stating that twisting it is quite easy and that is assuming they don't take it out of context as suggested by Imnotblue. That is something that is done all the time.
