The 10 Worst Congressmen Posted: 4 months ago by DerAlt
This is quite a group.
Even in politics these folks are standouts.
Number 3, Don Young of Alaska has recently added another shady episode with his adding of a 10 million dollar earmark to the I-75 road project in Florida. The earmark showed up after congress passed the bill but before the president signed it.
This is from 2006 but unfortunately it never seems to get old.

The fact that 9 of the 10 congressmen listed are Republicans shows how biased this site is.
The fact that Tom Tancredo and Marilyn Musgrave are on here proves that they don't really pick the worst, but rather that they pick people they don't agree with.

Doesn't mean that they are wrong, necessarily. Look at those records. This may not be the worst 10, but they certainly could compete easily for the honor.

I mean, picking on Tancredo for hating illegal aliens? That makes him bad?

Well this list is 2 years old to start with. But it is still enlightening. The fact that 2 years ago the dems were the minority might explain the ratio of pubs to dems, but I would like them to produce a 10 best list so I can get an idea of who is doing a good job. The fact that these are the worst means there's lots more bad in congress.

I don't "hate" illegal aliens. I think they are breaking the law and should be treated accordingly just like any other.

The whole concept of dissing on someone for not liking illegal aliens is really weird to me.
ILLEGAL Aliens
^^^^^
Do you see the bold word there? Does it hold any meaning?
I have zero problem with anyone that wants to come to the US, get a job and such. If they get in the line that is there and follow the rules to get in.
As soon as you have to hop a fence to get here, we have a problem. Honestly, I cannot fathom why I should welcome illegals. So there are a lot of businesses that use them. So what? So there are a lot of businesses that should be fined IMO.
People want to call me an assh*le for holding that opinion, go right ahead. Take a number and get in line. It won't be the first time, and for sure won't be the last.

1. Ron Paul (TX-R)
2. Dennis Kucinich (OH-D)
3. John Salazar (CO-D)
4. Jeff Flake (AZ-R)
5. Bobby Jindal (LA-R)*Resigned to become governor

Yeah, a Rolling Stone article on politics is just left of meaningless. I'd say stick to music, but they can't even get that right.
I might be biased because I live in his district, but Baghdad Jim McDermott has always topped my list. You'd have a hard time beating him.

This is a very biased list IMO. Cynthia McKinney and few others come to mind.
Personally... I'd rather throw the whole lot of them out the door and start over with term limits for all!
NOTE: My upvote for DerAlt... not for the accuracy of this article, but for posting a good conversation starter.

Nothing much wrong with the actual list except it's way too short.....and it stops with congress.
Lots more fertile ground available.

For instance, from the article:
Even the right has noted his unbridled looniness on the subject: In July, when Tancredo proposed that America respond to any future terrorist attack by bombing Mecca and other holy sites, the National Review came to an unavoidable conclusion: "Tom Tancredo is an idiot."

Educate me: Other than bopping a photographer in 2006 what else has she done that would put her on the 10 WORST list? Honest question.

Yeah, she's got a real shot. I thought Nader said he was considering another run. Although (as I have said since I first heard that), if Obama is the nominee, I doubt Nader will run. Clinton, yes, he’d run… but the same people who would vote for Nader, won’t be too displeased with Obama, and unless his candidacy falls apart, a run would just be a waste of money.

I was trying to find more information on Cynthia McKinney and read that the Green party was considering her nomination.

Yawn.

Educate me: Other than bopping a photographer in 2006 what else has she done that would put her on the 10 WORST list? Honest question. Well for starters, she hit a capitol hill police officer (not a reporter) simply because he didn't recognize her and asked her to identify herself while trying to enter the capitol building.
During her last year in office, she missed an average of 45% of the votes but had plenty of time to spin conspiracy theories to the media.
Everything is about race when it comes to Cynthia. In fact, after she struck that cop, her comments to the media were "I'm sick and tired of having to have my identity validated by white people"
another quote from her...
"I believe that when it comes to major foreign policy issues, many prefer to have black people seen and not heard."
She is an equal opportunity racist though, spewing racial hatred towards both parties. Once complaining that Al Gore had a low "negro tolerance" (as a side note - his campaign manager at the time was black).
She counts the anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan (Leader of the Nation of Islam) among her closest friends (guilty by association? maybe not but this taken with all the other crap she rants about must give one pause).
She's also a strong advocate of political gerrymandering based on race (for those who may not know - Gerrymandering is the redistricting of electoral districts for electoral advantage.)
And one prize piece of legislation she sponsored includes House Resolution #4968 - an investigation of the government conspiracy to murder gangsta rapper Tupac Shakur. Nothing else of importance for her to work on at the public's expense?
I could probably dig up more on her but this should give you an idea of why I think she is a HUGE embarrassment.

She and quite a few others like her, (some already on the list) are probably the results, my opinion only, of election into office based on things other than qualification. Too many people are mindlessly set on race, religion, ethnicity, political partyline and more recently, gender, in one direction or another.
On a national basis you can add irrational fear or parinoia to the list.
No question about Cynthia though, she definitly belongs on this list.
