Edwards was my candidate of choice. If he runs with Obama (as his VP), I'll vote that way. Otherwise, his endorsement really doesn't sway my opinion. I'm totally undecided between O and H.

The big question is: What does an Edwards VP bring Obama? Nothing really in terms of big numbers. Experience, not really. Common-man appeal, certainly not. A different wing of his party, doubtful.
So then how does it hurt Obama? Well, Edwards has run for VP once already, and twice for President (and lost all of those, not a great record)... and the dossier on him is pretty thick. He's already been attacked for being elitist (expensive hair-cuts), opportunistic phony (see: "ambulance chaser"), and the weaker member of his family (IMO, Elizabeth is a better fighter than he). And since Obama has been attack for some of the similar things, this won't help the ticket seem any stronger.
So to me, an Edwards/Obama ticket just doesn't make much sense.
To play it smart, Obama would have to take an older politician... someone who will have the experience people say he lacks. They will be someone from the "red state" areas, and they will be a bit more moderate than Obama himself. This, of course, is the opposite of what McCain needs to do (younger, more conservative, and a pro in one particular area... probably the economy and finances).
But that's just my opinion.

Hillary is ranked #15. Thus she is numerically more conservative than Obama.

Obama's too pompous to pick her, but she would certainly be his best choice. I think the nastiness between the two... will prevent that from even being a consideration. Furthermore, with so many Democrats angry with Hillary for staying in the race, and attacking her with everything they've got, I can't imagine a turnabout.
It might have been a really strong ticket a few months ago... but at this time, I doubt it would gain anything.
