Nothing really in terms of big numbers.  Experience, not really.  Common-man appeal, certainly not.  A different wing of his party, doubtful.<br/><br/>So then how does it hurt Obama?  Well, Edwards has run for VP once already, and twice for President (and lost all of those, not a great record)... and the dossier on him is pretty thick.  He's already been attacked for being elitist (expensive hair-cuts), opportunistic phony (see: &quot;ambulance chaser&quot;), and the weaker member of his family (IMO, Elizabeth is a better fighter than he).  And since Obama has been attack for some of the similar things, this won't help the ticket seem any stronger.<br/><br/>So to me, an Edwards/Obama ticket just doesn't make much sense.<br/><br/>To play it smart, Obama would have to take an older politician... someone who will have the experience people say he lacks.  They will be someone from the &quot;red state&quot; areas, and they will be a bit more moderate than Obama himself.
