Barack Obama sought Thursday night to extinguish a burgeoning controversy over another Chicago minister who supports him, denouncing the comments of a Catholic priest who said “a whole lot of white people [are] crying” because a black man was within reach of the Democratic presidential nomination.

Personally, I don't think this is going to be a big deal for Obama... the guy was pretty far removed from the campaign. But it is all front-page stuff, so might as well discuss here.
Although, I must ask,
"What the heck is going on at that Church?!"

I don't see this hurting Obama at all. He (or any politician) can hardly be held accountable for everything that every one of his supporters say.

eh, to be honest there are definatly a percentage of people that dont want him in office just b/c he's black... but there are also people that will vote for him just b/c he's black.. so yea it happens, i still say he's the better candidate all around and a better person

I love only having to tolerate a month or so of campaigning prior to our elections.

I love only having to tolerate a month or so of campaigning prior to our elections. It kinda is already a reality show. Cable news does the 24-hour coverage... the internet does the speculating... and the evening news talks about what happened yesterday.
