Edwards would "seriously consider" VP spot Posted: 4 months ago by Rowangrey
I already know I'll be voting Obama this year, but if Edwards were his running mate, I'd actually feel good about it.

And why wouldn't Obama want Edwards?
He's twice lost a bid for Democratic presidential nomination, and once lost a general election as the VP candidate.
If Obama wants any help losing, I'm sure he'll consider Edwards... he is the most experienced loser of the group. (Joe Biden is a close second.)

Meby McCain will choose Huckabee and we will all have a loser-off in November...

I don't know who Obama should choose but I never liked John "My Daddy worked in the mill. My Daddy worked in a mill, did I mention that?" Edwards.

Edwards has a track record of losing, and did poorly in this primary. After dropping out, he waited to see which way the wind was blowing before endorsing Obama. Nothing but an opportunist, IMO.
I hope Obama wins, but if he puts Edwards on the ticket, he will be just a negative. No synergy whatsoever. The whole may be greater than the sum of its parts, but in this case I think Edwards would just subtract from Obama.

Meby McCain will choose Huckabee and we will all have a loser-off in November... Well, I said "I'm not blue," not "I'm not sour!"
But, I'm not really. I just really don't like Edwards. He is an opportunist, who stands on whatever principals he thinks are most sturdy at the moment... he bends in the wind, smiles pretty, and says what he thinks will get him the most votes. I'm not a fan.
As for the "loser-off," I think we could find someone better than Huckabee for that. He's only run for president once, and by most accounts, was pretty impressive (at least in how far this virtually unknown candidate went).
If you wanted a really good loser-off, McCain would have to pick Bob Dole (which would make the combined ticket age somewhere in the triple digits, I believe). Dole ran for VP in 1976, and President in 1980, 1988, and 1996... of course, losing each time. That's a time tested loser, if ever I saw one.
