This is outrageous. How the f**k can the Air Force possibly justify spending this kind of money so that a few top brass officers can sit comfortably on their fat asses while in a transport, while their troops are in the "standard" seating. And to spend all that money on changing the color of the seats from brown to Air Force blue with the bulls**t reasoning that blue doesn't show dirt as much as brown does...Arrrrrrrrrrgh.

This pisses me off so much. That money could have been spent in so many other ways...how about making the transports more comfortable for the troops, eh?

"That's bunk," said Paoli, the Air Force spokesman. "The carpeting comes from Home Depot, not Ethan Allen." He added that the capsules are "less than business-class standard" and "really not that nice."

I think the Army considers a comfort capsule to be something you stick up your ass when you're in the field and can't shizzit for a week.

Would "Air Force Blue" relieve constipation better than brown?

Sadly, there's a lot of needless expenditure's in the military. Don't bash the AF, as this happens in ALL branches and you're lying to yourself if you say otherwise.

Here's the thing...Budgets are assigned based on what you spent last year. So, if you spend half a million dollars one year, and the next year, your unit only spend $400,000, the following year your budget WILL be cut, even if there's a documented need for legitimate reasons to have a half million.

So, rather than have that happen, there's a lot of pressure to spend the full budget. And that means that as the end of the fiscal year approaches, units start looking for ways to use up anything that's left. And a LOT of the time, that means things that aren't really 'tight'.

That happens just about every time departments/agencies are working within a budget. There is not much of a reward for being under-budget.

So true in the corporate world as well. If you can't spend your entire budget within the year, it's common practice to get vendor invoices for future services, just to justify your budget amounts.

Not that I would do something like that...
