Many more sources than just McCain gave credit to the announcement of drilling that caused the dramatic drop in oil prices.

There are so many variables involved I would say that Bush's announcement was part of the reason (something that many people predicted would happen) but there were other factors at work as well.

The price of oil (or anything else, for that matter) does not rely on one single factor alone (said the Department of Redundancy Department). Last night, I saw an ad for McCain in which they said that there is one person wholly responsible for high oil prices, and that person is Barak Obama:

Well, to be fair, Obama's supporters do make him out to be the second coming and have already handed him the Presidency so that ad is playing that up.

Just like the obvious strategy from the other side is to blame everything on Bush and use the "McSame" rhetoric to make McCain guilty by association.

It's an ugly business, politics.

Yeah, I know. Personally, I don't believe any political candidate has been either as godly or demonic as political ads make them out to be, so seeing ads like these only make me roll my eyes and snort derisively (as opposed to snorting coke) (not that I snort coke, cuz I don't) (really) (really!!).

I change the channel when either a McCain ad or Obama ad comes on. It depresses me to see current day politics in action.

And the thing is that all these things are all forced on the candidates by their staffs and special interests and the party, etc.

I honestly believe that both men would prefer not to have to do any of this crap and just debate it out and "may the best man win", but there's too much money involved.

If McCain truly believes that then he really doesn't know much about economics.

Well, we (as a voting group) can be a pretty ugly species. IMO, It comes from the illusion that we need to have an adversary in our lives ... that we have to be on a winning team. This is, and has always been the goal of all politicians.. to pit us against each other, and take our eyes off the slight of hand, and the assault that's taking place or our freedom, and in our wallets.

Politics, as I have said for many years, has become less of an intellectual struggle... and more of a sporting event. The parties only divide you up by "team," and like a sporting event, you must attack, shout, and disrespect people who aren't on your team.

The only thing we're missing, is people with face paint... but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

Obviously you missed the substance: McCain is as full of s**t as all the other politicians.

I am severely sick of these two parties (we need at least a third). Their candidates have done nothing we couldn't do for ourselves. They have just about ruined the future of the children of this country, and have virtually put an end to any kind of productive responsibility for our aging infrastructure, and our declining planet.

Now, in addition to the main stream media, we have the main stream financial market analysts blowing enough smoke to cover their conspiracy to take the money we have earned, that we have spent our working lives investing for the future.

Unfortunately, I don't believe the current (whichever you like) recession/depression will end in the next couple of years. On the other hand, I believe in the ability and competitive nature of young America, and when they see that neither their parents, nor the government, can no longer contribute to their ever-growing tuition, they will come to the realization that they don't need to listen to the Government lies of how patriotic is is to sacrifice their lives killing people they never knew anything about, and they will take back the country, and restore the constitution.

These are just my opinions and concerns.
