Why the Press Is Ignoring the Edwards "Love Child" Story?
Why the Press Is Ignoring the Edwards "Love Child" Story?
Edwards, too, may be a sex hypocrite. The tabloid [The National Enquirer] called Edwards a cheater last October and the father of a love child in December, and last night the Enquirer posted a story about Edwards' visit to his alleged mistress and child at the Beverly Hilton on Monday night. You're way too rational.

However, Slate is a bit better known, and affiliated with NBC... so the story has a little something behind it. But I think the media's lack of interest in the story, even though it was The Enquirer who broke it, says something.
Think of Slate ... and all these sites as a mutual fund, because that's what they are. You can either go with the fund, whether or not you either don't have the time (or interest) ... or you can spend the time and create your own fund. Slate, like Salon, has some high producers and some dead weight. Either way, they get the advertising hits.

Well, your thesis has a few problems... and I'm pretty sure you know that. That's why you didn't post this as a reply, so I wouldn't come and respond. Oh well... here I am.

INB, why do you only post "political" stories…
I don’t “only “ post “political” stories. I happen to be interested in politics… so I post what interests me, in the hopes that other people are interested too. Simple as that.

… that are in some way extremely slanted towards your own political views.
And I don’t only post stories that are slanted one way over another… although, I do admit more of my stories are negative right to left. But again, that’s what interests me. I never post hit pieces, I never post slander, and I never post from out of touch blogs without a big giant warning about it. And since we have an “open community” here, and there are plenty of other people who post negative stories about McCain, Bush, and Republicans… I feel I balance things out nicely. I don’t recall you criticizing them… why is that?

Surely plimeworthy news should be based on individual merit not based on posting anything that is totally biased towards your political leanings.
Are you now suggesting that Plime only be un-baised sources? Because that’s contradictory to arguments you’ve had in the past.

Seen as you are so vocal about sites like the Huffington post and other politically "biased" sites (interestingly you only mention sites that are biased against your political leanings)
Buzz… wrong-o. First, HuffPo IS a biased site, although they’re much less biased than some. Second, I have never only included blue blog sites in my list of “un-link-ables.” Sites like Free Republic and Newsbusters, are also at the top of my list. I’ve said that before… perhaps you missed it. Third, it’s not the sites per se, but their content, and their purpose. Those sites have a stated goal of slandering one site, while promoting the other. They are propaganda sites, and thusly everything they write or post should be held under higher scrutiny. Furthermore, I have always said that if you must link to one of those sites, you should put up a warning beforehand… reminding the readers that the content is going to be propaganda, and thusly potentially lacking certain contradictory information, full arguments, or misrepresentations of the facts. Fair is fair… and when something is patently unfair, we should be made aware of that.

I know you like trolling around here and attacking folks… and then giving the old puppy dog eyes (no pun intended)… but it really doesn’t work when you’re this transparent. Sorry… but thanks for playing.

Oh yes, I sat here quivering in the hope that you wouldn't return to better me with your superior wit and intellect. I was just desperately hoping and praying that you wouldn't see my comment that I made in this recent post of yours and that you wouldn't destroy me with your blinding intelligence and superior wit.

Yeh, ya got me there.

Hmmmmm, you think that commenting on someone's constant, biased posts is "attacking" and "trolling"? Maybe it's best not to take comments so personally.

Oh god, I hope you don't see this and reply
