Woman Asked To Leave Kentucky Mall Because Of Dress
With Pic.

Whoa whoa whoa.
Why does she have to pay for the husbands' wandering eyes?
What a shame.

And?
For good or bad there are such thing as dress codes.

The fact that she bought the dress at the mall has no bearing whatsoever.

Does this mall have a Victoria's Secret or the equivalent? If so, she could just as easily have bought something from there and worn it, so that point isn't valid.

As for the dress, I fail to see what is wrong with it, but I can only speak for the front view. For all I know, it might be something akin to a hospital gown in the back.

Thirdly, if the guard was informing her that husbands were watching, any takers on who was complaining? :D

I agree where she bought it means nothing but I don't think the dress is that bad.
I've seen much skimpier outfits on the streets and in the mall.

Does the security guard have the power to do that?

Sigh. Malls are private property, enclosing even more private property.

She COULD have a case if the mall has not gone to the store where she bought it and told them to remove those dresses from their stock.

And she can sue for sexual harassment, ie, the guard ogling her and then telling her that her clothes were "too" suggestive.

LOL, I would have said, "I know it's too revealing, but I don't own any other clothes and I came here to get more...." Or maybe, "Sorry, my pastor's wife selected this dress for me...."

I say it was just the security guard making up an excuse after eye humping her.

Edit: I mean he made her turn around in front of him, right? Haha that's just unnecessary, unless he has another agenda ... maybe she went to high school with him and he's getting off on a power trip and kicking her out cus she was a biatch to him.

Point is, there could be other reasons, considering the mall didn't even comment on the situation. You just don't know.

Once again the jealousy bug strikes. One jealous wife was with her husband who had his eyes stray and she couldn't accept the fact that there was someone more attractive than her in the mall. Given that though, the husbands should've known better that their wife will always be the most beautiful woman in the world to them no matter what.

But for someone to go to security to complain about a 20 year old girl wearing a summer dress is beyond comprehension. 2 minutes later she would've been out of sight and that would've been the end of it. Like I said at the beginning, the jealousy bug struck again and now made the news.

I have too. I live in a college town. I've seen skimpier dresses on ladies attending funerals and even church.

That isn't the point. As was stated bcgrote, the mall is private property and they can select a dress code. It isn't what you or I may find appropriate but what the mall and its customers may find appropriate

This really sounds like it's the decision of a security guard who is deciding something based on his own feelings.

The mall has the right to restrict reasonable limits on what the public wears, ie; no sandals, no swimsuits but it needs to be specific and needs to be publicly posted.

If there are no specific stated guidelines for dress length, shorts length, back coverage etc then it's a personal decision by the guard and not by mall directive.

It's not nearly enough that the guard thinks she's not wearing proper attire.

This is really lame BS.

Did the mall have a dress code posted somewhere?

If not, should they?

Most restaraunts and stores post "No shirt, no shoes, no service".

If they want to enforce a dress code, then one should be posted for patrons to see.

I personally, found nothing wrong with her dress. Her boobs weren't hanging out as far as I could tell. I've seen my fair share of ass cracks due to low slung jeans, and undergarments due to the same, in public places that are deemed private property and those people were not asked to leave.

I agree with that, but:

...She says she's worn more revealing clothing before to the mall, but this is the first time she's been kicked out...
This is the first time, out of many, that someone at the mall had a problem with her clothing? Why bring it up now? Why didn't they think that the first time she wore revealing outfits to the mall was a cause for concern? What is this; 3 times a charm? Why this time? Why now and not then?

"...and people's husbands was (sic) looking at me,"
Jealous wives...

I'd have to see her nude in order to make a comparisson between the photo in the article and whether it was too revealing or not..

Edit: Why doesn't the word nude sound as cool as naked?

That is true. They need to have a stated policy and stick to it.

However words like "inappropriate" which would be a likely term used are subjective and will be open to interpretation.

That dress is far from inappropriate in most reasonable people's minds.

I am not advocating such dress codes. I think they are asinine and yes, pathetic. They show a lack of tolerance and a lack of maturity. We are not 9-year olds. We can see a bit of flesh without having the sky fall on us. Personally I don't care if she was topless. As long as there are no health issues, people should be able to do as they please.

I am just saying the mall via its representative has a right to do this. The mall is trying to please all of its customers including the ones who were complaining.

I don't agree with it, but they can do as they please as long as they don't violate anyone's civil rights.

personally whining about it to the media shows a bit of pathetic cry for attention on the part of the lady.

Naked/nekkid sounds immature. Nude sounds tasteful or stylish.

I think she looks great in the dress and I wouldn't be worried at all if YOUNG CHILDREN saw her dressed like that.

As previously stated, wives got jealous. Sad, really.

I would rather they ban women who have no business wearing tight belly shirts and kids with their pants sagging.

/hopes Las Vegas is more liberal next June.

Not really, I commend her for it. The fact is this security guard made a huge mistake, if they were too actually kick out every women who wore a dress like that one then they would find their business plummeting. The bad publicity is really her only hope for a (well-deserved) apology.

I would imagine that the store that sells this dress is PISSED about this.
