Woman Asked To Leave Kentucky Mall Because Of Dress
With Pic.
Woman asked to leave Mall in Kentucky because her dress was (way) too hot. What's next? ANARCHY? Banned from airplanes because you're too beautiful? She bought THE dress at THE mall just the day before. picked by MeLip 3 months ago

What's with that accent? It's like Brooklyn mixed with some kind of European. Did nobody else notice that?!

My first thought involved burkas, too. "Forcing men to ogle" is the reasoning behind that as well.

"Miss, you need to leave this mall at once!!! ... and go to my house and take that dress right off. I'll be over soon to bring you more appropriate attire and inspect that things are up to code. While you're waiting, why don't you pour us both some drinks and make yourself cozy on the bearskin rug."

Remember, KY is in the Bible Belt... where ever you go, you'll be influenced by cultural values. There may be a Victoria's Secret, but people aren't going to wear their undies as their outies, because they have SOME idea what's acceptable in their area.

I feel uncomfortable in the mall sometimes because of some of the window dressing, or lack thereof. Call me old-fashioned, that's OK with me. It's my choice whether or not I shop by those stores. So, jealous wives, if you go to the mall, expect your hubby and/or your kids to see more than you like, because it's definitely there. If you don't like it, don't shop there.

And the accent? At the risk of sounding racist, it's hillbilly imitating black. EDIT: Sorry, just listened to it, and it's definitely a speech impediment. But some young Kentuckians do talk that way.

« DerAlt : This really sounds like it's the decision of a security guard who is deciding something based on his own feelings.

The mall has the right to restrict reasonable limits on what the public wears, ie; no sandals, no swimsuits but it needs to be specific and needs to be publicly posted.

If there are no specific stated guidelines for dress length, shorts length, back coverage etc then it's a personal decision by the guard and not by mall directive.

It's not nearly enough that the guard thinks she's not wearing proper attire.

This is really lame BS.
I think you hit this spot on. If no clothing requirements are posted at the entrance, or for that fact anywhere in the mall, then the security guard and the mall could be in serious trouble.

I don't think a complaint necessarily equates jealousy..

« TraumaMamma :

I would rather they ban women who have no business wearing tight belly shirts and kids with their pants sagging.
I think a good place to start would be to ban tube tops except as beach cover-ups. I think banning them for people who "have no business" is a slippery slope, part of me feels like people who have the guts to wear something should be able too, but in reality it seems those people don't possess great courage but rather lack tact. I think that this person from Kentucky lacks tact and modesty, but malls have tradtionally been a bastion for tactlessness and immodesty. I hate malls. I also think as long as we are going to ban tube tops we should ban tank tops for men. Whether the wearer is cut or flabby a tank top is an undershirt, and is acceptable for mowing the lawn in or playing basketball but little else.

I guess the eyeballing husband won't be getting any Klondike bars in the future.

My friends and I were banned from my mall for a year because we were wearing all black and apparently we scared an old lady just by being there and shopping. About 8 or 9 of us were given trespassing warnings because we argued that it wasn't fair. [Now I know better.]

This chick needs to stop being such an attention whore. It's private property, they can do what they want. This really is only her business, she shouldn't have gotten the media involved.

Hey it's only a step away from kicking pretty chicks out because they're pretty and husbands look at them. Clothing is just an excuse. But I agree, they should put up a post saying "ugly people only" on the mall entrance.

She's a very pretty girl and the dress looks fine on her, but it's shorter than what I'd be comfortable wearing in public. To each his own. Personally, I was more offended by her poor grammar than anything else. I'm glad they kept her speaking parts to a minimum.

« Killerbean : I say it was just the security guard making up an excuse after eye humping her.

Edit: I mean he made her turn around in front of him, right? Haha that's just unnecessary, unless he has another agenda ... maybe she went to high school with him and he's getting off on a power trip and kicking her out cus she was a biatch to him.
I tottally agree.

I can't see any wife, no matter how big her MooMoo is actually going to a security guard and complaining that their husband was eyeing a 20 year old in a skimpy dress. Seems more reality based that the husband would be in trouble instead.

Oh, and that I bought it at this mall excuse doesn't fly. They sell bathing suits at the mall but it's a rare mall that will let you in in just a bathing suit.
