Jerome Corsi: Right-Wing HitMan (from AlterNet.org) Posted: 3 months ago by fugazi
Mr. Corsi wrote 'Unfit for Command' about Kerry during the 2004 cycle, and has penned another work attacking Obama (and, it seems, democracy). Does the 'left' really have anything that compares to Limbaugh, Coulter, and guys like Corsi? Why must they try so hard?

we all know about the book, it is old news.

Of course informing us about the book isn't the purpose of this incredibly biased attack. Instead it is just a name-calling propaganda against the book. I'm not saying the book isn't bulls**t. It may be. It may not be. Chances are large parts of it are bulls**t and its "facts" are taken out of context.

As much as I don't think the book is any good. An ultra-biased name-calling attack piece is the same level as the book.

Obama posted a refute of the books claims, perhaps that would make for a better post. At least it wouldn't resort to calling people racist and liars.

The interesting thing is that if you look at Corsi's body of work... he isn't really a "right wing hit man" as described. He's written some negative stuff about those on the right as well. He's apparently, just a very critical guy... not saying his opinions or conclusions are or aren't correct, but he's not necessarily a
"party operative."

As for who the left has... they've got MSNBC and the folks on Air America, as their most overt angry pundits. Keith Olbermann and (now) Rachel Maddow on MSNBC, Al Franken and Randi Rhodes on Air America (or at least they used to be), and let us not forget the "Hollywood heroes": Michael Moore, George Clooney, Rosie O'Donnell, etc. etc.

There are plenty of big mouth lefties... however, their rate of success and influence amongst the American population... well, that's another thing. They don't hold a candle to the mouths on the right... but it's not for lack of trying.

Really, who cares what either side's paid mouths say about anything at all!!

Words by pundits and politicians alike should be avoided at all cost, except to maybe shake your head and laugh. Their only intent is to take your mind off the fact that their hand is in America's pocket, stealing your children's future.

Feeling good about a new president at one time could have turned things around ... not any more.. not when the person you elect is guaranteed to spend a trillion more in his next term creating bigger government, fighting wars they can't win over reasons that never existed, and sending you the bill to pay, with money you don't have ... and you have no choice. Why?? because you were too busy worrying about who said what.

Corsi wrote a book entitled "Black Gold Stranglehold.

From the article; "Black Gold Stranglehold, claiming to expose the Big Lie that will "enslave" Americans: "the belief that oil is a fossil fuel and a finite resource."

I guess that means Geritol is the only true fossil fuel.

That is part of the point right there...I don't really think 'influence' can be accurately guessed at, much less measured...but even the list of those on the 'left' cannot be compared to the yellers and screamers of the right.

FWIW, I don't think many of those people are on the left...for the most part, they are liberal, but only a little.

And Rosie ODonnell doesn't count...at all...she couldn't make a consistent, cogent point if her life depended on it. Rhodes is only slightly better, but still too hysterical. The liberals do not have to caricature or imitate the right, but that seems to be all they can come up with.

I listened to Franken, and read a book or two of his, and though he is funny, he is no substitute for a real journalist/pundit. He is clever, but not as intelligent or educated as he believes himself to be.

I would almost take Clooney over all of them, at least he comes off as sober in his thinking.

But again, it's not for lack of trying. There are people out there trying to fill that position... the liberal heavyweight. Olbermann is doing his best, but still lives deep in the shadows (and may never make it out of there).

I think of them all, Michael Moore is the only truly successful one. He's got books, movies, and is internationally known. Of course, he's not an "every day" guy, and he doesn't really debate anyone... but he's the biggest they've got.
