Patriot Act focus of Muslim Charity Lawsuit
Well, from the looks of it, the government is picking on a charity just because that charity happens to be run by Muslims. picked by harmsc12 2 years ago

It's really hard to say, just from that article, as to *why* the charity was raided.

I'd really like to think it wasn't solely because of the religion of the people running it. I would imagine *many* more charities and businesses shut down if that were the case.

That's not to say that they aren't scrutinising Muslim-run businesses and charities much harder than non-Muslim organizations.

"From the looks of it", it appears that the charity was raided because the government feels they broke some laws.

They are now investigating this.

Pure and simple and perfectly acceptable.

It wasn't raided just because of the religion of the people running it. There are many of charities being ran by Muslims that aren't being raided.

It appears that there is evidence (enough to get a warrant) that they aided terrorist or people in terrorism activity.

Maybe the whole thing is bogus. Maybe they didn't help terrorists. Maybe they did, but didn't know it. And maybe they fully knew what they were doing. That is what the investigation and the subsequent court hearing will determine.

Trying to pull the "religion card" is just as horrible as pulling the "race card"

As 2many said, there is nowhere near enough information in the article to reach any conclusion on whether or not the government was targeting them only because they were Muslim. Mostly because the article is really about the lawsuit against Comerica Bank, rather than the raid.
