Limited Government: Are the Good Times Really Over? Posted: 7 months ago by 2manyusernames
Utterly missing in this election season is a serious focus on limited or constitutional government. The Democrats, generally speaking, want more government, not less, so their neglect of the issue is to be expected. But the Republican dereliction is more troubling. It represents a falling away from the standards of Ronald Reagan’s conservatism—a decline already reflected in the “compassionate conservatism” of George W. Bush.

Photograph of Bill Clinton and Rev. Wright Surfaces Posted: 7 months ago by ImNotBlue
In providing the photograph to The New York Times, the Obama campaign appeared to be trying to divert some attention to the Clintons after a week in which Mr. Obama’s relationship with Mr. Wright has left him facing one of the biggest challenges of his campaign.

Records of Clinton, McCain, Obama inappropriately accessed, officials say.
**And suddenly, this story gets much less interesting. One candidate getting singled out, is a story. One political party getting singled out, is a story. All candidates getting "violated," fades away.

McCain aide suspended for relaying video Posted: 7 months ago by dollyllama
The Politico, a Washington-based newspaper, reported that the two-minute video was the work of Lee Habeeb, a former producer of the Laura Ingraham Show, a conservative talk program. In the video, Wright's most incendiary remarks are mixed with snippets from Obama speeches and interviews, which are edited to make the senator seem to be sputtering and unpatriotic.

Republicans: Only Our Pastors Can Say Crazy Crap Posted: 7 months ago by 2manyusernames
Neither Jerry Falwell nor Pat Robertson ever retracted their view that America provoked the 9/11 attacks by doing things to anger God. John Hagee continues to believe that the City of New Orleans got what it deserved with Katrina. ...At least not as reported.
The Dalai Lama has widely been misreported as having threatened to resign as leader of the Tibetan Buddhists (as brought to our attention by Marli, here).
This clarification on his websites seeks to make the distinction that he doesn't intend, even if he could, to step down as Dalai Lama, but as spokesperson for the Tibetans.
