A gathering, if you will- For those who dislike gatherings. A Gala event for those who eschew dressing up. It's a Goth Prom!

A society of loners, jumping at the chance to get all dressed up in black, put on their finest shade of black lipstick, high heels and bustiers.
No word on what the women will be wearing. picked by mobase 5 months ago

Content aside, that is some of the worst photography I've seen in a long time. There were too many pictures of other people taking pictures as well.

It seems that Goths themselves have come full circle in this- They will be there dressed in their finest black, each trying to outdo the other in an effort to be noticed.
You really need to see the absurdity in why we put on these five "Goth Proms". Firstly, most of us don't fit the "goth" mold. We have geeks, darksiders, punks, posers, festies and others who bunch up at Hard Mondays. If you called any number of them "goth", they'd flinch. And the "prom" nonsense stems from several sources. Most of us are far from high school age, we may or may not have attended our own proms, and we're free from PTA oversight in our decoration choices. We like to see people pull out their finest for the night, sure, but those who go there to be "seen" are as silly as our pairing "goth" and "prom" in the same phrase. Look at this year's event title. It was "Contrivance". When all is said and done, this was a chance to make one night special and lure out more than the usual crowd... and to laugh at ourselves. Don't search for the the deeper implications of the event as it relates to goth subculture. Better to go read a more blogs.
