Slow reading in dyslexia tied to disorganized brain tracts
Slow reading in dyslexia tied to disorganized brain tracts
Dyslexia marked by poor reading fluency — slow and choppy reading — may be caused by disorganized, meandering tracts of nerve fibers in the brain, according to researchers. Their study, using the latest imaging methods, gives researchers a glimpse of what may go wrong in the structure of some dyslexic readers’ brains that makes it difficult to integrate the information needed for rapid, “automatic” reading. picked by AutumnLotus 2 years ago

I'm dyslexic, and whilst I have no certification or qualification in the area, I still know a fair amount about it - it's one of my pet subjects, if you will.

If anyone wants to know more, thinks they might be dyslexic, wants to know what it means, would like some pointers as to self-diagnosis or coping strategies, or anything else, then I'm more than happy to offer what help I can.

PM me if you'd prefer not to broadcast it and I will do my best to answer/help you.

Interesting reading, AutumnLotus.

Me too - the liking it part - but much more so now I understand what it is a bit more.

Yay! dyslexia.
