The teenage girl who is allergic to WATER
The teenage girl who is allergic to WATER
Teenager Ashleigh Morris can't go swimming, soak in a hot bath or enjoy a shower after a stressful day's work - she's allergic to water. Even sweating brings the 19-year-old out in a painful rash. Ashleigh, from Melbourne, Australia, is allergic to water of any temperature, a condition she's lived with since she was 14. picked by AutumnLotus 5 months ago

They didn't explain the one thing I was wondering most. Can she at least drink water?

It is a skin condition, not internal. If she could not drink water she would be dead.

What the article also does not say is if her skin breaks out from all liquids or just some liquids. It did mention sweat, which is part water.

I'm sure you can just research the condition and find out.

I love how they felt the need to include a picture of her in a bra to illustrate the article.

But... Isn't water going to go from inside to outside? And someday you gotta know she will just stop taking showers!! There are just too many questions my off-kilter mind needs answered that this article does not discuss!!!!

EDIT: I know she said she has an umbrella in the car but still, WHAT ABOUT RAIN?!?!

of all the things i could say about this article, what provokes a response from me was a comment on the article page, saying something along the lines of, "that's so sad, she's such a pretty girl." what, if she was ugly, then that commenter wouldn't sympathize? should misfortunes like this only happen to ugly people, should they happen at all? i wouldn't wish a water allergy on my worst enemy, no matter what s/he looks like.

Just imagine that somehow you really got God PO'd, and twice a week he would rain down fire and brimstone on only you.

But seriously, I didn't imagine that such a horrible condition could exist. She must be really strong to actually face it. If I had such a thing, I would almost never shower, and just spend all day with my buddies at Plime.

PS: No, as funny as you are, I don't already do that.
