most people's immune systems are more than capable of dealing with the daily virus threats, and we have grown to be immune to many viruses over the millenia.
now, when a super plague comes along, such as a genetically modified smallpox, all hell could break loose.

h1n1 isn't a threat. not even close. yet. Depends on who you are. I caught scarlet fever when I was a teenager by visiting a hospital gift shop at the same time as someone with resistant strep throat. Now think about who else might have a job, or kids who go to school, or who might shop and go to the movies and eat out in the same places you are, and it kind of makes you wonder.
