Happy Carl Sagan Day! Posted: 3 weeks ago by equinox
Carl Sagan died in 1996, but his ideas and passion for science and exploration live on. Friends and colleagues have created the first celebration of his life, hoping it will become an annual event. Speakers include Phil Plait of Bad Astronomy and James Randi, viewings of Cosmos and sky watching. Live USTREAM coverage all day.

I think Carl Sagan was an amazing fellow, and am all in favor of this.

However, if it meant a paid day off from work, I would even support David Hasselhoff Day.

While he seems to be intelligent, I don't like this dude. It is not his stile, it is more like his approach I don't like. This "I can write any stupid thing as long as it is not on the field of my experience, semi educated intellectuals will gobble it up anyways" attitude just rubs me the wrong way.
