This is pretty interesting! I was a diver in the Navy and after reading this I'm left with one big question...

Can it keep up with demand when you breath harder?

With a tank of air - when you breath harder, you just take in more of an "existing" supply of air.

This device seems to generate air/oxygen on demand but can it keep up with changes in consumption when a diver is exerting himself? In effect, can you consume air faster than this device can generate it?

As a side note... it's pretty dangerous to consume pure oxygen (especially at depth). I don't see how this thing can provide an ongoing "mix" of oxygen and nitrogen without carrying some sort of external supply.

If you are not a diver (or interested in diving) - ignore everything I just said.

I'm a diver too and would love to see this become standard equipment someday. I was also wondering how this would work, especially at different depths, since the deeper you dive the more oxygen your require. What regulates the amount of O2 at 20 feet as opposed to 100 feet? In the interview Mr. Bodner does mention that this hasn't been worked out yet.

Guess I won't offer to be a guinea pig...
