I applaud this and wish the rest of the world would follow suit.

Or maybe grocery stores could charge a nickel for every plastic bag you take.

Or discount you a nickel when you use a re-usable bag.

The Ikea(s) in Maryland (USA) have stopped using plastic bags. You have to bring your own or buy one of their reusable bags. It's a great idea!

Our stores here do that - for every fabric bag you use - or every plastic bag you re-use, your bill is discounted a nickle. :)

I know there are a bunch of stores here that charge for plastic bags.

I honestly almost never use them, as I always walk to the grocery store and I trust sturdy cloth bags much more than flimsy plastic ones. I wouldn't want to see my milk and curry paste smashed all over the sidewalk. That would make me sad.
