Let There Be Poop! Posted: 8 months ago by Jetka
"Every now and then, science puts forth a theory that -- at least on a bitterly cold December day, with a flu infection stirring fatigue in a certain science journalist -- resonates with grand poetic truth. The theory: the incredible complexity of life on Earth, the myriad of forms and forms and functions, owes its existence to poop."

The theory of Scandinavian racial purity cherished by Hitler and the Nazis has been rubbished by new scientific research.

You can hear the sound of racists crying the world over. wait, half of them won't understand anyway and the other half are too pig-headed to care.

FSU geochemist challenges key theory regarding earth's formation Posted: 5 months ago by AutumnLotus
Munir Humayun co-authored a paper, "Partitioning of Palladium at High Pressures and Temperatures During Core Formation," that was recently published in the journal Nature Geoscience. The paper provides a direct challenge to the theory which suggests that all of our water, as well as several so-called "iron-loving" elements, were added to the Earth late in its formation by impacts with icy comets, meteorites and other passing objects.

Computer simulations strong support for new theory of Earth's core Posted: 8 months ago by AutumnLotus
It has long been known that the inner core of the earth, a sphere consisting of a solid mass with a radius of about 1,200 km, is mainly made up of iron. However, seismic observations have shown that elastic waves pass more rapidly through this core in directions that are parallel to the earth's axis of rotation than in directions parallel to the equator - a phenomenon that has not been previously explained.
