Are 'green' products really green?
Are 'green' products really green?
Spending a little extra on "green" products may make you feel better, but it may not have as much of an Earth-friendly impact as you hope picked by MeMe 5 months ago

Of course not! It's now become one giant marketing ploy.

This makes me mad, because it takes away from the importance of actually saving the planet.

This is going the way of "organic".
There's money in selling to half-assed socially conscious hipsters.

How about...
environmentally concious
pollutant responsible
ecologically friendly
anything but "green"

Oh on a side note - Mobase - "organic" is a term that is regulated by councils/commitees(eg the USDA). There are strict rules/steps that producers have to abide by to recieve an official organic rating.

This is different from "green" because with this there are no governing bodies and ANYTHING that might pollute a little less than it's competitors can be called such.

In Dallas, there's a store called Green Living that imports "Monoleum" (or whatever) from Europe. If I ever stop by, I'm going to ask them if importing "Green" luxury product and shipping it thousands of miles is any more efficient than buying locally made linoleum.

This reminds of the facebook group where they supposedly save the rainforest by having people join the group. that doesn't make any sense. Green things and organic things have become sooo trendy, but most people don't seem to care if they really have an effect.
