Hypnotherapist Alex Lenkei left medics stunned by snubbing anaesthetic and sending himself into a trance before undergoing surgery. Anaesthetist Richard Venn said the surgery would usually be carried out under general anaesthetic.

It's freakin' amazing what the mind is capable of. Reminds me of the guy who ran a half-marathon in bare feet and shorts (no shirt) above the Arctic Circle in winter.
