You Walk Wrong
It took 4 million years of evolution to perfect the human foot. But we’re wrecking it with every step we take. picked by doggylives 4 months ago

This is why I think crocs are so perfect. They are flat, and flexible!

I have a friend who is a pediatrist (is that right?) A foot doctor...
He's told me that he sees thousands of women with awful foot pains, and completely ruined feet because of high heels. They ask for him to make it better, and he tells them they need to stop wearing high heels, and they refuse. They would rather look "fashionable" than not be in pain.
It's pathetic that our society is making pain fashionable and cool.

I'm glad I don't wear high heels...

I agree. The main type is pretty ugly but I have a cute pair of black Mary Jane ones and I don't care how yuppy-tastic they are, I LOVE them!

It's Podiatrist and also, I see your point that it is sad that people woulf choose fashion over pain-free walking, but you have to admit...some shoes are just toooooo CUTE! Fortunately, I'm not into stilletos or the pointy toe shoes so my heels don't really hurt to walk in. But, like I said, my crocs are my favorite and I got them in black because it matched everything and nobody questions them at work.

I'm jealous that you get to wear them at work. They've been deemed non-professional at my work place.

I don't care if my shoes are ugly. I take comfort over fashion any day, always have. Well, that and the fact the heels are ridiculous on some of us. :p

"All you barefoot peeple are idiots. Yes, you went to collage, but you learned to be liberel and stupid. This is why my kids won't be going to collage!

Bear feet are wrong. You never see a Godly man in bear feet. I bet you hate America too!"

"And a ride in MBTs on the herky-jerky D train feels like someone’s throwing an ankle-spraining party and you’re the guest of honor."

Interesting! I'd been debating a pair of those MBT's. I want to start walking and I've put god knows how many $$'s into trying to find a pair of shoes that's comfortable for mildly rugged paths. no luck.

I wonder if pebbles and pine cones would start to feel like a foot massage once you got used to it.

Thank you for the article! Long but riveting read

I got a pair of MBTs a couple of years back and would recommend them.

I've never had any ankle problems with them.

They take a bit of getting used to, but one thing that convinced me is in their sales pitch they put it that owning one pair will alter the way you walk permanently, and that you may never need to buy a second pair. I appreciate honesty like that.

But ignoring the gait-modifying, they are very comfortable once you're used to them, but make sure you do get used to them before you go on a long walk (if you do get some). Like walking in ski-boots, it's takes it out of you at first, but after a while you stop noticing.
