Boobs make children cleverer.

Funny that, they make grown men dumber. picked by pocksucket 4 months ago

Although what the article says about how breast feeding children would make their mothers interact with them more and make them smarter like that seems logical, most of their evidence seems to come from testing 6.5 year olds.

How do they test 6 year olds accurately? Many people have problems regarding the accuracy of regular IQ tests, but I think that testing 6.5 year olds is worse: it seems as pointless as making Kindergarten GT or Honors classes would be. And suppose a child scored well in their IQ tests at 6.5 years? What does that mean for the child, when all the test that would be of any importance would be during High School and College and at around that age, and a lot can change from 6 and a half years old.

I believe the longer you breast feed, the less your risk for breast cancer as well. I *think* I remember hearing that it can cut the risk [edit]by a certain amount ;)[/edit] if a mother nurses for more than two years.

Too lazy to google that mess.

Its a good thing they didn't test my children...lol. My 8yo daughter has no common sense what so ever. She is completely brilliant in her school work, brings home A+'s on her report cards, but yet, has no common sense what so ever. *sigh*

True IQ tests have nothing to do with learned information. Many tests have been called IQ tests, but show a heavy cultural bias. If you take a serious one, you can see a very real difference.

Wait... something natural that we've been using to raise our children since the beginning of time is actually a good idea?!

HOLY CRAP!!!

Sarcasm aside, it really is common sense, as the ingredients for breast milk varies from mammal to mammal, it stands to reason that human milk contains ingredients that encourage brain development. Whereas, for instance, cow milk contains a lot of fat to help the young calf grow large quickly.

I did the nursing thing with all my kids--though no more than six months. After that I usually want my body back. Formula is soooo expensive. And it really can't duplicate what comes naturally.
