We're not sure where they came from, we don't really know how to stop them, and they're eating our electronics from the inside out!

The only (and small) good news is they eat fire ants.

Worse, they, like some other species of ants, are attracted to electrical equipment, for reasons that are not well understood by scientists.
It's an old problem and it's pretty well understood.

Some types of insulating coatings on PCBs contain sugars (don't know what kind, probably cellulose related though) which the ants are attracted to.

so do they sell sugar-free electronics? is this something i should request next time incase the crazy ants of texas make it across the oklahoma border?
