Ok, it's an old article, I know. But, these are amazing pictures and a brief account of a trip into "Truly one of the last frontiers of Central America".

Awesome photos. I was really disappointed that some of the links were dead towards the bottom.

What's the general consensus though?

Love this find!! Especially with the cute wittle reptiles...

Lookit him! He's like "dude, that feels awesome...I'm gonna take a nap now, k?"

Except I'm sure that Moskitia has plenty of "moskitias" the size of Buicks buzzing around.

Great read!

This quote confused me though:

"One stream had swelled to the size of a river and was simply too wide to cross with a rope. Joaquin bravely faced the challenge and with the aid of the bucket made it to the other side"

I mean, how does taking a bucket across the river with you help? I can maybe imagine holding it upside down with air in it as a flotation aid, but it doesn't look like Joaquin is doing that.
