In the US it would appear that the mainstream media has degraded to tabloid headlines, speculation and shoddy research.
Remember, this is the land where Brittany Spears' hair was a top story for at least a week. The presence or absence of a lapel pin was debated for what seemed an eternity. The land of American "Idle".
