You know this "word" has the word volcano in it.

Science geek alert...
It supposedly refers to disease caused by the inhalation of fine silica particles such as produced by a volcanic eruption.
I've heard it called a factitious word, i.e. made up by man. Thats what really stumped me. Aren't all words factitious?
Pneumo = lungs
Ultramicroscopic = very very tiny (micormeters in size if not nanometers eh)
sili = silica
volcano = originating from a volcano I assume
osis = infection, distress.
This has been a public service announcement from the "I was a nerd then and I'm still one now" society.
This term is used about as often as "hypothalamohypophyseal portal system". :)
