 Born-Again Virgins Rewrite The Past
Born-Again Virgins Rewrite The Past
Through spiritual or surgical routes, women give their first time a do-over.

"Religiously motivated women like Watts believe it's very possible to become a born-again virgin — if you believe it is so and pledge abstinence until marriage." picked by TchEngRox 4 months ago

Born-again virgin? I don't think so.

I was going to leave a comment along the lines of "whatever helps you sleep at night" or something, and then I read the second page of the article.

“These women are very scared,” Alinsod says. “The majority do fear for their lives. So this is a life-saving procedure in the majority of women I deal with. They are afraid they will be killed by the youngest member of their family, or the youngest member of the groom’s family,” because young men are often given light jail sentences for the murders.
Something is seriously wrong with the justice system if jail isn't a deterrent for murder.

I knew a girl in college who went from fairly promiscuous and using some hardcore drugs to a 'born-again virgin' and found the lord, etc etc etc...

It's just another way of not having to say, "Oops! I've made some mistakes in the past but I have learned from them."

Take responsibility for your actions, people!!

This is what killed me:
“One patient of mine gave it to her husband as an anniversary gift," says Baker. "She was not a virgin when they got married so we re-attached her hymen to reproduce that experience.”

... What a terrible anniversary gift. ("here, you get nothing. Let's have sex that may be painful and bloody for me!")

Am I the only one who saw this ad next to the article? Do they change? Half the time I don't even pay attention. This one struck me funny, in that ironic sort of way.

As for becoming a "born-again virgin"...whatever. Just tell me you are making different choices now. Past is past.

This is the biggest article of horse crap I have read in a long time. I guess I understand the idea of reattaching the hymen in the case of being murdered for not having it anymore but sex is sex is sex.

You only have your virginity once. As soon as you lose it, it is gone. For. Ever.

If they want to tag it as "spiritual" then it should be called something like spiriviginty.

ugh.

not buying it. whether it's good, bad or mediocre, you never forget your first.

and it's the memory of that first time more than your lack of a stupid vaginal flap that gets you booted out of the V club.

That's like me being a born again vegan. I just pretend I never ate at Burger King and suddenly, it is so. I rule.

And let's be honest... no one really "loses" their virginity. It's not like it's gonna show up on the side of a milk carton. You know exactly where it is and who has it. You just can't have it back. :p

You're wrong. I can't remember my first.
