A Pardeeville mother accepted a plea agreement on charges she had a sexually explicit discussion with her two sons, even while she maintained she did nothing wrong and that she didn't understand why she was charged.
Now, I know there's two sides to every story, but this just seems messed up.

That's B.S.! There's two sides to every story, and I want to hear the other side.
If a parent can't tell their children about sex, who will? All the misinformed kids on the street? The boys are 12 and 16 - hardly children anymore; they are old enough to date and definitely old enough to get into serious trouble if they don't know anything about safe sex. They're teenagers, they probably talk about sex and chicks all the time, and their mother might have just wanted to set the facts straight.
For all we know, she was just giving her boys 'the talk' and the one was a snivelly brat who wanted to see what would happen if he twisted the truth a bit.
Argh.

This makes me sick! Sex toys are NOT harmful to anyone! It is not a crime to own or use sex toys. And having a talk about sex with your children is healthy and encouraged by everyone I can think of.

It really, really sounds like one of the boys was stirring up some trouble, here.

Just curious, but isn't the exact same information presented to young teens in a standard Sex Ed class at school? What's the difference?
I would've waited at least until the boys reached puberty before giving them "the talk," but it's her son and her decision.

I would've waited at least until the boys reached puberty before giving them "the talk," but it's her son and her decision. those are exactly my thoughts!
My biology teacher would've been put away for years if this is the way to "handle" these type of talks.
And yes, she's their mom, she should be able to decide what to tell her own children.
I don't see any parents being locked away for not telling their kids one freaking thing about sex, and in my opinion THAT is a lot more harmful

Not knowing the exact content of the discussion, I can't say she did nothing wrong.
However, I find it odd that the decision about what these kids needed to hear was based on the youngest child's opinion, not the parent. If I only told my kids what they wanted to here, for fear of prison, I would be serving life now. Sometimes they have to hear things they don't like, and sometimes you have to discuss things that make them uncomfortable. That is a parent's job.

Gotta love how harmful material is a misdemeanor while harmful descriptions equal a felony. God bless America.
If I ever have children (I doubt it) I plan on not keeping any secrets from them. I plan on being completely open with them. Unless this woman asked the kids to perform a sexual act, or threatened to harm them, then there isn't a "too far". Why the f**k should it be legally mandated to keep information from children? True indisputable factual information for that matter, and not some tripe about religious beliefs. There is no way this should be let go.

This really sets a horrible precedent. This should be fought. She should be able to keep the kids out of it, using only the info that was already given.
Even what was alleged is not a crime. The state is wrong period. It would not hold up in appeal.
Really obscene that something like this was done to her by an over-zealous prosecutor.
