How to start a sensation in the Water Cube Posted: 6 days ago by
As many of you know...the one man medal machine Michael Phelps is a hometown boy. In fact my kids play at the tot lot his mom probably took him to as a young, gangly freakish gilled man. Anyone who has been to a Ravens or O's game also know that Baltimorons also deface the national anthem by shouting "O" on the second one the... "O say does that" We feel like we can...the words to the old English tavern song were written in our harbor. So what do you think the possibility of getting ...

EDIT: ***As we've survived the doom I've changed the title of the thread from Impending Internet Doom to what you now see.*** There's a possibility that the title of this thread may well be sensationalist and blowing the truth all out of proportion. I say that just adds to the fun. We've just had warning here (here being a room where we monitor bits of the internet to make sure they are still there) that in about 30 minutes the amount of traffic expected as a result of the Olympics opening ceremony. But footballs are round? Posted: 2 years ago by
Dont get me wrong.
I do enjoy a good game of American Football, but I was just wondering where I should place posts for the other type of football.
You know, the one where the 'foot' is primarily used to hit the 'ball' :D
I only ask as it is the biggest sport in the world (by far) and I can see this causing some confusion when Plime is fully marketed.
Im sure the American football fans dont want to be sifting through loads of soccer (as you call it) stuff and vice versa.
Does an...

Here's how you play: For each matchup, you must pick a team and the number of games. If you get the right team, you get 2 points. If you get the right number of games, you get 2 points. If you are off the number of games by +/- 1, you get 1 point. Points are double in the 2nd round. Points are tripled in the 3rd round. Points are quadrupled in the 4th round. (for those that don't know...each series is a best of 7 series...so you MUST win 4 games to advance) For example, if I say "Dallas over Anah...

I seem to be interesting in trying sports that you cant just seem to do everywhere, because either the region is not that great for the activity or finding a place that offers this activity is minuscule or the cost of trying is insanely expensive…. Does anyone else seem to have this problem and if so what activities do you want to try. My list so far is: Dog sledding I want to try a Zorb Giant tree climbing- like the Giant Red Woods, with harnesses and all that jazz. Anyone else...

2:28:37 What is the significance of that time? It’s how long it took me to run my first ever Half Marathon! Yes, earlier today (April 6th), I ran the Big D Half Marathon in under 2 and a half hours! (FYI – a half marathon is 13.1 miles) I am very happy with my time and my run. My goal was to finish in less than 2 and a half hours and I succeeded. The first 5 miles I ran at around a 10:40 pace (that’s 10 minutes and 40 seconds per mile). The next 5 miles I ran between 11:04 and 11...

The Final Four Posted: 5 months ago by
Yeah, I'm making a sports-oriented post. Don't get use to it. The town is going completely apes**t. Oh my god, you have no idea. I took some video footage but it's not working on Zach's computer so I'll have to upload it to YouTube on my computer later. There are thousands of people on about five blocks downtown. It's absolute maddness. Oh my god, it's crazy out there. Oh my gosh. Wow.. Edit: KU beat North Carolina. If you didn't know, KU's old coach, Roy Williams, left KU a couple of years ago to...

A special congrats goes out to Hoosker who was 4th overall, but the best percentage of a player who played ever single week (and every single bet). Snowy Day Favorites? Posted: 7 months ago by
It's -35 here with the windchill right now, it's snowing so hard I can't see across the street, and there's no way I'm leaving my house to do something productive in this weather. Naturally, I'm waxing my skis and dreaming of slightly warmer weather (and a trip to Powder King). Downhill skiing is my favorite, but I live half a block from a big outdoor rink, so I love heading over for a game of shinny in the evenings. Do any of you Plimates have a favorite winter sport/activity? If so, where do you no...

Cold Weather Running Advice Posted: 7 months ago by
I've been running again. But the weather outside is frightful. So I've been wearing nice winter running gear and it keeps me at a good temperature. My problem is that the cold is KILLING my lungs. When I finish my run, it feels like they're bleeding. To help them, when I get home I run the shower really hot, and I breathe in the steam. That helps, but I'm looking to skip the whole "excruciating pain in the lungs" step. Any other cold-weather runners out there?...
