I don't know who plays in the American league or the national league (if both even exist)

But i'm rooting from afar for both the red-sox and the yankees. even though they are eachother's arch nemesis.


and a question from an uninformed european. Does the world series include foreign teams, like a real world cup. Or is it more like the playoffs in basketball and the super bowl in football?

It absolutely includes foreign teams! There's a franchise in Canada.
