Here's how you play:

For each matchup, you must pick a team and the number of games.

If you get the right team, you get 2 points.
If you get the right number of games, you get 2 points.
If you are off the number of games by +/- 1, you get 1 point.

(for those that don't know...each series is a best of 7 series...so you MUST win 4 games to advance)

For example, if I say "Dallas over Anaheim in 6" and Dallas wins in 7, I get 2 points for the right team and 1 point for being off by 1 game. If I say Minnesota over Colorado in 6 and the Aves win the series in 6, I get 2 points for picking the right number of games - but 0 for picking the wrong team.

You MUST make your Round 1 picks before round 1 starts. Round 2 will allow you to make all new picks.

There is a 5 point bonus question...that you must pick PRIOR to the first game of round 1....who do you pick as the Stanley Cup Winner right now? You CANNOT change this pick. But, if you're right, you get 5 points added to your final score.

*sniff* the Oil are out *sniff*

Western Conference:
(1) Detroit vs (8) Nashville
Deadwings in 4
(2) San Jose vs (7) Calgary
Lames in 6
(3) Minnesota vs (6) Colorado
Nordiques in 7
(4) Anaheim vs (5) Dallas
Can't they both lose? Dallas in 5

Eastern Conference:
(1) Montreal vs (8) Boston
Habs in 4
(2) Pittsburgh vs (7) Ottawa
Snottawa in 7
(3) Washington vs (6) Philadelphia
Penguins in 6
(4) New Jersey vs (5) New York Rangers

Since the Oil are out *whimper,* I think the Habs will finally bring Stanley back to Canada. Ooohh, I don't know, I also want to pick the Lames. I'll submit my final answer before the playoffs start tomorrow.

edit: As much as it pains me to say this, I'm going to say the Lames will win.

Hurtin' Albertans, FTW!

There are still 3 series left unfinished:

In the West:
San Jose and Calgary are tied at 3 games each.

In the East:
Philadelphia is up 3 games to 2 over Washington
Boston and Montreal are tied at 3 games each

And there are 5 series that are done:

In the West:
Colorado beats Minnesota in 6 games
Detroit beats Nashville in 6 games
Dallas beats Anaheim in 6 games

In the East:
Pittsburgh beats Ottawa in 4 games.
NY Rangers beats New Jersey in 5 games.

With that - here are the standings (with only the 5 completed series accounted for)

Here are the standings with the San Jose/Calgary and Boston/Montreal games at 7 since we know there will be a winner in 7 games. These do NOT include the winners (obviously) of those two games NOR any points at all from Philly/Washington.
