First of all, my obligatory Go Stars!!! Turco fianlly won a play-off game without shutting out the opponent. Good sign.
Now, I watched that Caps-Flyers game on TV last night. That's what playoff hockey is all about. And I guess that Ovechkin guy is a half way decent skater, huh?

In the spirit of the thread, I would like to point out that the Flyers kicked the S%#@! out of the Capitals today. I guess when the Caps tied game 1 and fell on each other at center ice they really did think they won the Stanley cup. Last I checked, it took 16 games, and they hadn't (at that point) even won 1 yet. Here's hoping that WAS their Stanley Cup. They asked for it.

Are you still cheering for Toronto, kind of like how a Riders fan will cheer for the Riders at any sporting event? I will ALWAYS root for the Leafs no matter what they are doing, but I have to say that I would really like to see the Stanly Cup make it's way back to where it belongs... in Canada.
However, since I say piss on the Senators (Ontario rival) and I would piss on the French (Canadiens), then Calgary. Though I would love to see Sid 'the kid' raise that shiny big b*****d in the air. So, I'd have to say I want either Calgary or Pittsburgh to go all the way, eh!

*goes back to moaping over the Leafs* I would rather see ANYBODY raise the cup BUT Cindy Crosby. Being a Flyers fan, I get to see him quite a bit, and his diving and whining are a disgrace. Why can't we have greats like Gretzky, Messier, Lemieux or Hawerchuck anymore? Talent and class go together quite well.

I used to be a big hockey fan, but stopped watching after the strike. I didn't stop watching by choice, I just didn't have time. Probably my favorite sport to watch though. I'm a Rangers fan though, 'til the day I die.

Shouldn't the Stars be having a half-black out and a half-white out? The lower bowl of the arena on one side of the red line would be all white while the other half would be all black. The side that Turco is facing would be the white out side and the visiting goalie would be looking at the black out side. Between every period, the whole lower bowl flips. That wasy the pcuk is always against a black backfround for the other goalie and Turco gets a nice bright white background.

Beat that ya losers! I went to a Stars playoff home game about a decade ago. It was the Stars vs the Oilers, and my brother, cousin and I roadtripped it from Calgary to Texas. I think it took us somewhere close to 40 hours of driving, but it was worth it.
The people sitting beside us probably thought we were nuts. We sang Stompin' Tom for pretty much the whole third period.

Philly RIPS the Caps apart 6-3! Fall all over yourselves at center ice NOW, Caps!!! Alexandria Ovechkin even did a little ballet to draw a penalty. If that's what the best player in the league is resorting to to give his team a chance, all I have to say is... Flyers. In. Five.
