Beat a Woman? Play On; Beat a Dog? You're Gone
Beat a Woman? Play On; Beat a Dog? You're Gone
Football superstar Michael Vick is in big trouble for his role in a dog fighting ring. Sandra Kobrin agrees he's in the wrong, but wonders at the outrage deficit when it comes to the guys who beat their wives and girlfriends and stay in the game. picked by JuicyFruit 1 year ago

Of course, the story is not that he beat a dog, the story is that he killed 20 of them. If they were women, he would be a serial murderer and would get the chair no matter WHO he was.

This should be felony animal abuse. 20 charges. Plus the paraphernalia et al charges, if jailed he could be out in 25 plus years if given consecutive sentencing. I bet he's out in 1 or 2 years. He will also probably be prohibited from owning ANY animals ever again...

The big stopper to his career is the BETTING. Betting in any form on any 'sport' is frowned on by most sports agencies and leagues. So will he become the pitiful Pete Rose of the football world?

Although I agree, the sports agencies should take a harder stance on offenders of nearly any sort. Yes, the authorities NEED a morality clause now... at least a basic societal agreement, not like, you gotta be a xtian or anything...

Domestic violence is a very nasty thing.

But then, these men(?) are under stress, are in prime physical condition, and in fields where aggression is expected. Perhaps high testosterone and low boundaries contribute....

We must continue to educate both the men and women involved. If the women don't come forward or complain or leave, the men might get the message that their actions are acceptable. They aren't.
