They said that the odds of getting two holes in one are 1 in 67,000,000 for a full round of golf. I wonder what the odds are for doing so back-to-back.

« sykeo56 : They said that the odds of getting two holes in one are 1 in 67,000,000 for a full round of golf. I wonder what the odds are for doing so back-to-back. You'd have to factor in how many courses have back to back par 3s. But I think mathematically it would be the same odds.
In other words: Dunno.

In other words: Dunno. I think the odds would have to be different.
In any full round you have 18 opportunities to hit a hole-in-one.
Therefore, to hit two in one round, they can be on any variety of 18 tries.
But to hit two in a row, they have to be consecutive tries (and like you said, two consecutive par 3s). This would make the odds astronomically lower.
Any mathematicians out there to help?

Any mathematicians out there to help? Hmmm... not really. Realistically you only have 4 chances at a hole in one as the average number of par 3s is four on a normal par 72 course.
As for the rest of it, I still dunno.
