I don't get it. So he's a nice guy? Is this especially good because he's a celebrity?
I take homeless guys coffee, return elderly folks trolleys (shopping carts) for them at the supermarket, put up people that need a roof over their heads for one reason or another, help out and do "good things" whenever I can or whenever I feel like it. No one writes an article about me (neither would I want it, that's not my point). Lots of people I know do far more and far more regularly than buy a guy a movie ticket once in a while and never get written about
Is the a case of low expectations of people in the limelight?

Doggylives for person of the year :)
But yes, low expectations for people in the limelight. I think it's also 'cuz he asked the guy to sit next to him. Most people wouldn't invite a smelly homeless guy to sit next to them.

Even my friends surprise me sometimes. It never occurs to most people to reverse the situation.

« DoggyLives:Most people are a*****es :) Too true. :) So it's especially nice to see someone be the exact opposite.
I think the reason why folks are giving him more credit is because of how easy it is for a celebrity to be a humanitarian without actually having to *do* anything other than donate a couple thousand to whatever cause their publicist says is hot at the moment. Famous folks who don't feel like interacting with hoi polloi on a personal level can still pretty much buy an international do-gooder reputation. It's refreshing to see that Tony Romo, who could easily afford to do just that, opts to do his good deeds the old-fashioned way.
Also, he's smoking hot. Just saying.

Being a from Philly, I HATE the Cowboys with the passion, but this was a nice thing that was done and does not go unnoticed. I priase people who are like this in the outside world....That said, Dallas still sucks. :P
